From the moment asphalt shingles are installed the shingles begin to deteriorate. This deterioration continues and then accelerates over their short life span. Sun-X steel shakes do not deteriorate and because the cost of steel and installation of a steel roof are constantly increasing, the value of a steel roof increases as well, adding more value to your home.
Sun-X roof can be installed over most existing asphalt shingles. This procedure eliminates the need for costly disposal and reduces the amount of material that is sent to our already overburdened landfill sites. The asphalt shingles also act as a sound barrier and an extra layer of insulation against snow and the sun’s rays.

Sun-X is manufactured from Canadian-made Granite® Deep Mat (GDM). Coated 28 gauge, galvanized, recycled steel that is strong, light and durable. This Canadian-made precoated steel is superior to other steel made off-shore.
Sun-X withstands high winds, heavy snow loads and hail. It will not split, crack, chip or blister and is backed by the steel manufacturer’s 50-year warranty.
Sun-X offers six beautiful colours to choose from. These colours resist fading due to the colour being embedded right in the Granite® Deep Mat (GDM) coating. A Sun-X roof will maintain its colour and beauty for a lifetime.
